Welcome to "thinkingchristian"! No, the term is not an oxymoron. In our culture, Christians are often known more for criticism of the so-called "secular" media, while producing lesser quality themselves. But historically, the Christian culture has produced great works as varied as Rembrandt's paintings, the writings of Milton, Donne, and C.S. Lewis, and the music of Bach and Handel. In these contemporary times, we can find writers and other artists with a Christian influence, as varied as Philip Yancey and Anne Lamott, bands like Creed, as well as visual artists. Like David in the Psalms, we don't always spout pithy phrases, like Christianized Hallmark cards; although there is joy, sometimes we question, sometimes we're confused and angry as we sift through the pain and complexities in this life.

At this site, we want to showcase artwork, literature and even music written BY Christians, although certainly not just FOR Christians. Come. Enter these pages because they're good - crafted with care.
